Winding Road

Earlier in my life, I did a lot of different things for work, just to see what it was like. Even after settling down for marriage and children, I still was lucky enough to find something that was interesting as a career. However, before settling down, buying the dog and the picket fence, I worked in the oil fields of West Texas and the off shore oil rigs, along the gulf coast of Texas and Louisiana. I spent a little time on a ranch or two in Texas and New Mexico, just to see what that was like.

I wondered what it would be like to take a big rig down the road, so I did a little of that and tried a few other things along the way. I am not sure if I was exploring, or searching for happiness. I think maybe a combination of the two it seems. I think in regards to the happiness, I have always been a happy person for the most part. Like many folks, I can get inside myself with heavy thoughts at times. So along the way I have learned to take the advice of something I may have read in a hallmark card, like taking life in moments, instead of lumping it all together.

I suppose since most of my writing is erotica, one would expect me to write my happy moments as kisses in the moonlight and the love and touch of a good woman. I suppose a little of that along the way may have been sweet icing. However, today I chose to write an experience with just me, a truck, a warm summer night and a steep winding road.

Though hundreds of forgotten miles were traveled, one particular night stands out as a moment to remember. I recall a short, but sometimes complex run, which entailed dropping down out of the North Carolina mountains, to pick up a load down near the Georgia line. The load was always over the legal weight, so it was pulled late at night, when the weigh stations along the way were most likely to be closed. The traffic was lighter also, because the truck and trailer was, for sure, a road full on the steep winding mountain road.

The trip down the mountain was simple enough, just gear down the truck and let the engine hold you back, allowing you to stay off the brakes. A few hours earlier a dip in the cold river below might have been nice, but not this night, so keep the brakes cool at all costs.

The return trip however, was what I choose to remember as a pleasant moment. Once the empty trailer was dropped for reloading and the tractor hooked to the heavy load, the mountain was waiting to be climbed. Under the extreme weight of the new load, the handling of the tractor would dramatically change. When the heavy springs and tires beneath the tractor absorb the weight, the ride would smooth. The gear changes with acceleration of the load must be quicker, so as not to lose momentum when the clutch is pressed for the shift.
I suppose what I write here would offer little interest for most, just another work night. I, however, have always taken an interest into how things work. So when the tractor heads up the steep incline of the mountain, I cannot help but think of what all is working in unison within the tractor, to power the 70 to 80 thousand pounds or more up the mountain.

Even with the powerful engine and gearing designed to do nothing else but move a heavy load, this particular mountain was so steep, even in the lowest of gears it took everything; the huge power train of the tractor could deliver.

In low gear and straining against the load, often times the tractor would be moving twenty miles per hour or less. So needless to say, the fifteen or twenty mile pull was going to take a while. This warm summer night I recall pulling the hand throttle fully open, with my foot now free from the floor accelerator and no other traffic around; I opened the door and stepped partially out of the cab on to the fuel tank step.

Along with the simple pleasure of the cool night air touching my face, I can hear all of the sounds of the truck working hard to climb the steep grade. With the throttle pulled inside, the injector pump out on the engine is wide open, feeding the fuel to the engine intake. With the injection of fuel, you can hear the engine air intake drawing in the supply of oxygen it demands for the combined mix to allow the huge pistons to fire at full power. When the generated power is transferred along the drive train to the tandem axles, you can hear the gritty sound of the tires seeking their traction on the pavement below, to move the heavy load upward.

The two chrome stacks behind the cab serve to muffle some of the sound of the engine as it works to provide the needed power. In the darkness of the night and the engine running at its maximum power for a long period of time, you can see the base of the exhaust stacks glow red from the escaping heat.

I suppose the slow moving truck is seen by most as a hindrance along the road way and is, even for me, if I am in a hurry. However, that night, with all that power at my fingertips, the cool breeze on my face, the scream of the engine echoing off the surrounding mountains, telling me it’s giving me all it has to give, is one of those unplanned, simple moments I choose to remember.

The Eyes of a Woman

The eyes of a woman, will allow you to share her countless joys, yet quietly show you, all her tears. Her eyes will beam to you, all her feminine beauty, yet whisper softly to you of all her hidden insecurities.

The eyes of a woman, will dance their dance, to warn you of her fury, yet offer you sweet forgiveness, within her tearful smile. Her eyes will deliver up to you, her utmost hidden secrets, yet consume you in their limitless mysteries.

The eyes of a woman, will cut you like a knife, yet mend your wounds, with her softer gaze of enduring compassion. Her eyes will assure you, of her intuitive strengths as a woman, yet beckon for you to hold her, offering her shelter, from life’s storms.

The eyes of a woman, will confirm to you, her inner fires that burn with sensual passion, yet search for the needed strength in your own to prove you worthy of her sweet submission.

The eyes of a woman will convey her every need and desired touch, more truly, than her quickened breath, can ever portray. Her hazed eyes of arousal, will silently plead for physical unity, to fill the desires inside her that cries out for your strength.

The eyes of a woman, will share with you a million of her most intimate emotions, when the slow and deliberate unity of bodies has begun. Her radiant eyes will relay to you, her every emotion and sensation, when her hurried breaths of anticipation, have long stolen away her words.

The Good Night Kiss

Holding her up close, her body finds warmth from the dark of the night chill. Her breath grows soft against my chest when she finds her own secret sanctuary in my arms. In her sanctuary her body finds warmth, her cares of life can slip away, allowing her heart to find peace.

With her heart at peace, she allows me to hold and feel the depths of her soul. Though I now hold the sensual body of a woman, she allows me to share the smiles and dry the tears, healing the hurts and sharing the joys of the little girl, who still dwells just beneath the sensual lines of the woman I now hold.

From the warmth of her sanctuary she lifts her face up to me, allowing the light of the distant moon to show me the beauty of her while her arms cling tight, needing her body ever so close. I move my arms from around her and gently cradle her face in my palms. Her body shivers once more when my lips find hers with the brush of a tender kiss. I move my hands slightly and savor the warmth of her skin as my searching lips move over her face.

My arms move back to surround her, still savoring the taste of her kiss and smell of her skin. Knowing the many complexities of the body I hold, complexities that make her all that she is, I will allow the rising beat of her heart to tell me of her needs. I will seek the hunger or  tenderness within her kiss to guide me to fulfill her every desire.

Just behind me, my pickup still idles along the curb, reminding me the night is not fully my own.
Breaking our sweet embrace, I remind her that her husband will soon be home soon and I need to get home and write something for my blog...

A Thorn in the Rose Garden of Profile Perfection

A few years back I found myself single after years of marriage and at the end of a long term, insane relationship. My job or social life did not offer a lot in the way of meeting the opposite sex, so I signed up on an online dating site.

Once I got the hang of things I had little trouble in scaring up a date. However, I soon found out that people do not
always look or present themselves as their profile may state. (I must say that most did, so I am, by no means, saying that it is not a way to meet people.)

I enjoyed reading all the different profiles and trying to figure out when the pictures they had posted might have been taken. But what
really interested me was the must have criteria for a date with a lot of the women. I would think; Damn! No wonder you are single! I even had some that would send me questionnaire forms of a sort, so you know I completed all those. Mercy!!

To be fair, after I talked with several of the women, I learned that the gents on the site were known to blow a bit of smoke as well. I would usually just say, “Really? I guess you are as shocked as I am! It’s hard to believe men would
lie about anything.”

So, at that point I took a little of what I had learned and a
lot of what I made up and composed an introductory mail to send out. You might call it kind of a read between lines for some of the profiles.

I entitled it:
“A Thorn in the Rose Garden of Profile Perfection”

Dear (insert name here),

I hope this mail finds you in the best of health and happiness. I like your profile and can see that I enjoy many of the things you do. I also have come to enjoy hiking of late, as one of my New Years resolutions is to get back in shape. It seems that over the last few years, my six-pack has turned into a twelve pack. I have learned, however, I need to cut back on the cigarettes, as I seem to spend more time sitting beside the trail hacking than hiking.

Therefore, I may have to put more focus on quitting smoking. I have tried a few times in the past but never could figure out what happens after sex if you don’t smoke. Lots of folks have suggested carrots, celery sticks and the like, to curb the craving for a smoke. However, I am hesitant to try this suggestion after sex, since I fear going to the refrigerator for a carrot could be a very confusing experience for one's pecker. No doubt going from a warm, comfy place to suddenly being subjected to a blast of cold air would leave him traumatized and likely curb his enthusiasm, should his services be required after a rest and carrot snack.

I enjoy dinning out the same as you, with the exception of seafood, it makes me swell up like a toad frog and have trouble breathing.
A good steak is my favorite, but my teeth make it slow going unless the steak is
extremely tender. They had promised to fix my teeth prior to my release from prison but I was released early when some court decided I would never catch up on my back child support if I remained incarcerated.
I can still enjoy a steak though; if you are patient, I can just cut it in small pieces so I can chew it with the few front teeth I have left. My buddies in prison often told me I looked like a chipmunk gnawing on a hickory nut but they were always just joking around.
I also enjoy the beach for a moonlight walk or just soaking in the sun, but right now my drivers license are suspended due to a DUI a couple years ago, but I hope to get them back in about a year, assuming I can pay the fines. However, if I met someone with a car and they can afford the room, I am sure my parole officer would allow me to go, if just for a long weekend or something. Like I said, I enjoy the beach but just cant get too close to the water if I am drunk, because if one of those little rushing waves, that comes up further than the rest, hits my feet, for some reason it causes me to wet my pants.

I am working to get a picture posted. But I am using my neighbors computer at the moment, since I lost mine in the divorce, and I'm not sure how to do it anyway. I would say my looks are average for my age. I am slightly bald on top but the sides
are long and I can comb the sides over to cover most of the bald. My counselor says the slight twitch in my right eye and the occasional head jerks might go away with my current medication, along with the calming effects the love of a good woman can have on a man.

I read that most folks say chemistry is a must. Just to let you know, I flunked chemistry in school and that is part of why I quit. But I may be able to learn all about it now. The only thing that
impressed me much, in school, was when the teacher sucked the hard-boiled egg down in the milk jug in science class.
I don’t know if you're into the Harley scene or not, but seems
most are. I have a moped until I get my license back. Its pretty fun and a little fast if you are going down hill but up the hill can be a little tricky especially if you are a big girl.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thorn.
